At Catalyst Financial, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality service to our clients and committed to upholding the rigorous technical and ethical standards expected of us as Chartered Accountants and Tax Agents. This is not just an obligation for us, but part of who we are as a firm and embedded in our own values.
Codes of Conduct
We are bound by:
- The Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants – These are the ethical standards of the Accounting Professional and Ethical Standards Board (available at apesb.org.au), including APES 110 Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (including Independence Standards); and
- The Tax Practitioners’ Code of Professional Conduct – These are contained in Division 30 of the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA);
and have policies, procedures and quality control systems in place to ensure compliance with the requirements of each.
If any situation arises that we consider may be relevant to your decision to engage us (or continue to engage us) to provide relevant services, such information will be listed here and communicated directly to our existing clients.
Concerns and complaints
We always endeavour to provide the very best quality service to our clients. However, if you have any concerns we invite you to discuss these with the team member responsible for your engagement. Alternatively, please contact our Director directly or via the Contact Us page.
We have policies and procedures in place to deal appropriately with complaints and will use best endeavours to resolve a complaint or dispute to the mutual satisfaction of the parties involved. We may require you to detail your complaint in writing to allow us to fully investigate any concerns that you raise.
Where your complaint concerns a tax agent service that we have provided, you also have the right to make a complaint to the Tax Practitioners Board in accordance with their complaints process described here https://www.tpb.gov.au/complaints.
Register of tax agents
The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) maintains a register with details of registered, suspended and deregistered tax and BAS agents. This register is available to the public to search at https://www.tpb.gov.au/public-register.
If you have any questions about the codes of conduct or our professional obligations, please contact us directly or via the Contact Us page.
